Recent Months at the Artists’ Foundation: In Numbers
In response to the devastating effects of the pandemic on the cultural sector, the Foundation has adapted its operations to provide quicker support to artists facing financial difficulties, across all disciplines. The Foundation has become an essential support for many of them.
Since April 1, 2020, the AF and its affiliates have granted more than $1.1 million in assistance to artists and cultural workers in need via numerous funds administered by the Foundation, including the $2-million Emergency Fund established by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec (MCCQ). The Emergency Fund was launched on October 15 in collaboration with Union des Artistes (UDA) and the Guilde des musiciens et musiciennes du Québec (GMMQ). The fund is dedicated to artists and cultural workers who are active in the performing arts, granting them an assistance of $2,000.
