Program details and terms

The Equal Opportunities Fund aims to support, include, and sustain cultural minorities, immigrants, and racialized communities in the Quebec artistic landscape. Through the allocation of the Equal Opportunities Fund, artists from diverse backgrounds working in the film, video, and television industries will be able to maintain their connection to their chosen profession and sector.

A financial contribution of $750 is awarded to applicants who meet the eligibility criteria. The goal of the Fund is to provide one-time financial support to cultural minorities, immigrants, and communities seeking equity to help them realize their projects or advance their careers in the audiovisual industry.

* Spaces are limited, and only one application per person will be accepted. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. *

* * Due to the large number of financial support applications received by the Artists’ Foundation, only one application can be submitted annually, regardless of the type of funding requested. **

Eligibility criteria

The main eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Be a professional artist from a cultural minority and actively working in the audiovisual sector (with an up-to-date curriculum vitae);
  • Demonstrate a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in Quebec in a context recognized by peers and outside of formal training;
  • Be able to demonstrate in a few sentences how a financial contribution will or would contribute to advancing or continuing the development of their artistic career, creation, production, or dissemination projects;
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident as defined in Section 2 (1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, have tax residency in Quebec, and have resided there in the past 12 months (with proof);
